Improving Your Skating Endurance

stretchingIn order to maximize your skating workout, you want to have as much stamina as possible, right? Right. So the Fun Spot team has put together some easy tips to improving your skating endurance. Take a look.

Stretch – It is important to make sure to stretch before doing any kind of workout and roller skating is no exception. Stretch your legs, thighs, hips and torso-these areas are used the most when roller skating.

Intervals – When building endurance, especially in the beginning, it can be difficult to give it your all for a long time. This is why you push yourself in intervals. Work as hard as you can for about 20 seconds and then rest for 40 to 45 seconds. Repeat the pattern 15 to 20 times. Focus on the intensity.

Weights – When you feel comfortable, add weights to your roller skating workout. You can grab dumbbells or add leg weights. No matter which option you select, you will be building your leg muscles and ultimately increasing your roller skating endurance.

With these quick tips you will be able to take advantage of your roller skating endurance and start increasing it today. When building endurance, be sure to listen to your body and know the signs of exhaustion. Building endurance takes time, so be patient with yourself and keep pushing toward your goal.
